What is Cake Design?
Contrary to modern belief, cake design is not an English art but a French art invented in the 17th century by Marie-Antoine Carême, known as Antonin Carême, who is a pastry chef nicknamed “the king of chefs and the chef Kings”. He is the first to bear the title of chef.
He was quickly noticed for his talent, and at the age of 13 he became an apprentice of the pastry chef Sylvain Bailly. Passionate about architecture, he was inspired by temples, ruins and pyramids when he opened his first shop; La Pâtisserie on rue de la Paix, where he exhibits in the window his pieces made entirely of sugar, marzipan and pastries that many rich aristocrats snap up.
Cake design becomes an art thanks to him and his fame travels all over Europe!
The democratization of cake design in England began in the 17th century with wedding cakes. In particular, we can talk about the 1840 cake that Queen Victoria served to her guests. A cake of 136 kilos all the same!
Other important dates will mark the rise of cake design such as the arrival of the thermostat oven in 1871 and the invention of sugar paste in 1888. This greatly promotes the accessibility of cake design.

Why don't we use fresh flowers on our cakes?
By choice and in order to preserve the health of our customers, natural flowers are not offered on our cakes. Indeed, natural flowers purchased from the florist are prohibited on cakes, even if wrapped in cellophane.
They are grown with a lot of pesticides, various treatments, potentially dangerous to health, from the stem to the petal through the pistil without forgetting the pollen.
Instead, sugar flowers can be sculpted to decorate your cakes.

Questions & Answers
Most designer cake cakes are fragile cakes that measure between 10 and 20cm high, or even more for the assembled pieces.
They are packaged so that the cake is well protected and does not suffer damage during transport.
We advise you to store your cake in your vehicle on the floor and flat on the passenger side or in the trunk without anything nearby that could fall on it, not to put it on the seats, and to keep a cool temperature in the inside the passenger compartment (air conditioning in summer) .
We cannot be held responsible in the event of damage to the cake during transport.
Layer cakes, number cakes, cupcakes, magnums, popcakes, desserts and any other cake containing cream must be stored in the refrigerator at a temperature between 4° and 6°C.
They can be stored for up to 72 hours in a cool place.
We advise you to take them out forty-five minutes before tasting in order to appreciate all the flavors. Regarding our cookies, you can keep them at room temperature.

Can we deliver your Cake
Yes, we can deliver your cake to you. However, delivery is an additional chargeable service. It is necessary to request delivery so that we can include it in your quote. Any request not specifying the need for delivery will be considered to be picked up at the store.
It is also necessary to inform us of the date and time of your delivery.
The prices for delivery are as follows:
Monaco, Cap D’Ail, Beausoleil – Delivery from €15 depending on the size of the cake
Roquebrune Cap-Martin, La Turbie – Delivery from €25 depending on the size of the cake
Eze, Menton – Delivery from 35€ depending on the size of the cake
We can deliver your cake beyond on request (Nice, Beaulieu, Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat etc…) .
Deliveries are not possible on Sundays and Mondays except in exceptional cases.
Can we do a tasting
for my Wedding Cake ?
It is possible to carry out a tasting for the order of your wedding cake from 60 parts.
This is offered to you in the form of a cupcake box with the flavors of your choice from the list of flavors.
There can only be one tasting and it will be chargeable. If the estimate is validated, the amount of the tasting will be deducted from the order.

Your Cake is made to measure
All our cakes and decorations are made to order and personalized with quality raw materials. These are not traditional mass-produced pastries. Your cake is unique, and is not made in an industrial way.
Each creation requires an average of 4 to 6 hours of work, even several days of manufacture for the modeling and decorations (characters, flowers, etc.)
All creations are homemade and tailor-made in our laboratory.
The choice of ingredients is made with the greatest care, in order to ensure optimal quality and best meet your desires.
The prices indicated are noted “from”, depending on the season, your requests, the slice of cake may be more expensive than the price displayed.
